Meet Our Trainer
Serah grew up with her family's small hunter/jumper training farm in the northwest
suburbs of Chicago. She successfully competed as a child and a junior on the
Chicagoland AA circuit. After high school, Serah studied at Clemson University
where she graduated with a degree in Spanish and Sociology. During college she rode
on the IHSA team for Clemson as well as continued competing in the Jumpers with
trainer Lee Cone. Her sophomore year she worked as a working student for Grand Prix
rider Aaron Vale. Her Junior year she spent abroad in Chile, where she was fortunate
enough to train with Olympian Carlos Milthaler. After Clemson, Serah spent a quick
8 months in "corporate America" before deciding to declare herself a Professional.
Serah's first job as a pro was working for Steve Haight at the Horse Forum in Lake
Forest Illinois. She was able to gain a lot of experience teaching different levels
of riders and learned a lot from Steve and Linda Haight. After two years at the
Horse Forum, Serah realized how much she missed working with young horses and found
an opportunity at Millcreek that she couldn't refuse. Serah has been with Millcreek
since October of 2007 and now has a small group of students with whom we travel to
many local and AA shows.
